Aaron and I went shopping yesterday.
First we went to Fry's.
We spent much of yesterday watching the extended edition of Avatar.
Excited to start reading this! The whole series is totally zombie-rific.
Star Wars moleskin notebook | Star Wars Darth Vader bookmarker
Super excited to start using that notebook for custom order notes. I usually keep all notes for custom orders basically in my head, but lately I've been getting a lot of custom orders so I've been forgetting size and colors for orders and I keep having to go back through messages to find the information. It's a total pain, so hopefully this will help solve that problem.

Top 5 Reasons Why I Wish I Was Boba Fett

Now if you know anything about me, you know that I am a huge Star Wars fan. Anything Star Wars and I'm totally into it, which is how I came up with this post. Now I know some die-hard Star Wars fans out there think that Boba Fett is nothing more than a glorified hit man, while I think he's pretty bad ass, even if he got knocked into the pitt of the Sarlacc. The San Francisco Chronicle describes Boba Fett fans as, "among the most passionate," and you can count me in that bunch, so here are my top 5 reasons why I wish I was Boba Fett.

Boba Victoria
  1. MANDALORIAN WARRIOR: Doesn't that title just sound awesome? I mean, if there's anyone out there that you don't want to get caught in a battle with, it's someone called a "Mandalorian warrior." Mandalorians are most well known for their amazing armor (it's known that trooper armor is based on the battle armor and gear of the Mandalorians). Because of their awesome armor, which varies from person to person, they're trade of choice is bounty hunting, hence the most well known of all Mandalorians, BOBA FETT. So, basically, being Boba Fett is like being a bad-ass 24/7. Who wouldn't want that?!
  2. HANGIN' WITH THE SITHS: Obviously Boba and Siths do not always see eye to eye, but working for such an elite Sith Lord, like Darth Vader obviously has it's perks ($.$). Plus, a Boba always needs money for the ladies and to keep his ship, Slave I, in tip top shape!
  3. CLONE CHILD: This may not sound like a cool reason to want to be Boba Fett, but I think it's pretty cool, because you were the one clone that got to be special, when all the rest had to be made into little slave warrior workers (bummer bro). Plus, growing up as Boba Fett, you could always just replace yourself with a clone to get out of class and other unfortunate situations, because it's like having a million twins! Plus you're "father" is Jango!
  4. CAPTURING HAN SOLO: This little bit is a conflicting one for me, because I'm a huge Han Solo fan, yet when I put myself in Boba Fett's shoes (boots, blaster boots, etc.) I tend to think that capturing and freezing him in carbonite is my total claim to fame and my shining moment. So while I love me some Han Solo, I have to admit, capturing him (for the brief moment in time that he was actually captured) being Boba Fett is like floating on cloud 9.
  5. BAD-ASS-NESS: If you've only seen the movies, then you don't know that this happens. THE FETT ALWAYS WINS!

Remember, Mondays are 'Top 5 Reasons' days, so stay tuned for more.

Friday Favorites #3

Star Wars coasters, which would match my Star Wars mugs. ThinkGeek.

Wish I could get my hand on a pair of Osborn shoes, if only they weren't so expensive! All of the shoes are amazing, check out the site.

Love this outfit from TeenVouge.

Jillian Tamaki’s Catwoman.

(Source?) Can't wait to get all my knitting needles and yarn from my parent's house to start knitting my own chevron blankets and rugs. I've gone crazy for stripes and chevron designs lately.

I love crazy cat GIFs like there is no tomorrow.

LOVE these boots from ModCloth.

Also love these pink tights from ModCloth as well.

Friday Favorites #2

If only everyone had $2,150 to spend on shoes they'd never wear because of how awesome they are.

This Mario art by Craig Cermak, check out his page for more amazing art.

Wonder Woman by Gerald Parel.

The Empire by Gary Kezele.

Treebeard! by WonderDookie.

I love rooms with huge windows. Makes you feel more outside than inside, doesn't it? Found on this great design blog.

LOVE ear jewelry like this, on this blog she says that it's "pierce free" but I want my ears pierced like that and get jewelry just like that. Found on this fabulous fashion blog fashiontoast.

SIDE NOTE:
I've been looking at a lot of fashion blogs this past week and have come to realize that when blogs have so many things on them (ads, words, buttons, etc.) I cannot find anything interesting and end up closing the window because of the huge mess. Maybe I should take a note from them and always remember to keep my blog simple looking.

LOVE this photo. Found on this fashion blog, thestylerookie.

What I did over the weekend

Overall the weekend (plus some of Thursday) was somewhat uneventful, but had it's precious little moments for sure.
Some of THURSDAY:
I spent the day drawing, watching Hellboy (new to me, never wanted to see it because frankly it looked uninteresting to me, but finally gave in and realized it was a decent watch, I need to stop judging movies before I see them), eating some delicious Morning Star chicken patties, which, being a vegetarian, is my favorite veggie meat maker ever. Aaron and I buy Morning Star food all the time, it's pretty much all we eat (we are both vegetarians).

Also put some of those apple soda cubes into some apple juice and it was delicious by the way, I suggest you try it.
Later on that day I was delivered some packages from Amazon, my favorite place to buy things because they get shipped to me usually by the next day (so much faster than some of the sellers on half.com, although I will still use half.com for it's amazing prices on books).

Reminds me, I finished Catching Fire (the second book from The Hunger Games series and  now I'm halfway through the last one, such a good read, I'll write more about them in other posts.

Also, Thursday night brought the blackout in San Diego. Aaron and I did not have a very fun night trying to read with one small candle and one small flashlight. Thank goodness the lights came back on at 3AM and we weren't stuck all weekend without electricity like all the reports online predicted. Yikes!

FRIDAY:
Spent the morning doing nothing and was surprised when Aaron came home early from work :) So we went off to a local art store and I was able to pick up some new art supplies to work on my new pillow designs. I figured since it's getting closer to Halloween and I'm a huge fan of calaveras/sugar skulls/Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead art I thought I'd come up with my own designs and make pillows out of them.

Those pillows always seem to get a lot of attention and I love making them so I've been working on new designs with my new art supplies. Here is one of them.

Adorable little skeleton cat. I've got lots of regular skulls in the works too and hope to get one of them started sewing today once I'm done writing this up.
After the stop at the art store Aaron and I headed to El Indio to grab some delicious Mexican food and headed home for a nice relaxing rest of the day.

SATURDAY:
While most of this day was spent doing nothing, in the afternoon I shook Aaron up and we went and got some smoothies at Jamba Juice and headed to Coronado and the beach.

The beach we go to is never too crowded and always beautiful. While sitting on the beach I did a sand version of Aaron.

We both had a good laugh at how realistic it looked and how soulless his empty eyes were. Hahaha.
After our trip to the beach we went out looking for some books. Aaron got House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski which is apparently supposed to be an amazingly scary book. I'll probably attempt reading it after Aaron has a go at it, but we also were able to score two awesome Star Wars Mad Libs books which we spent the rest of the night laughing at, making disgusting libs. For good wholesome fun I suggest you pick yourself up a copy, here.
Anyway, that's it for today, off to get some sewing done!
